How to use a scrub towel – step by step
A scrub towel is a simple way to turn your shower into a little skincare moment. Here we go through how to use it, how often, and how to take care of it so it lasts a long time.
Step by step
- Wet your skin and the towel. Use warm (not hot) water and add your usual shower gel.
- Scrub in long, gentle strokes. Start at the shoulders and work your way down. With an extra-long towel, like Skrubbhuset's 120 cm one, you can easily reach the middle of your back too.
- Be gentle. You don't need to press hard – the material does the work. Avoid sensitive or damaged areas of skin.
- Rinse your skin and the towel. Rinse the towel out thoroughly so no soap residue is left.
- Hang it up. Let the towel air-dry between uses.
How often should you scrub?
Many people use a scrub towel a few times a week, others daily if their skin feels good with it. Listen to your skin: if it turns red, itches or feels irritated, it's a sign to take a break or scrub less often.
How to care for your towel
Rinse it out after each use and let it air-dry for the longest life. It can also be machine washed at 40 °C without fabric softener.
After your shower
Pat your skin dry and finish with a moisturizing cream or lotion – your skin will feel extra soft and fresh.
